DELANO HOTEL

A landmark of post–World War II Miami Beach, the Delano Hotel rises 170 feet across 14 stories and was originally designed by architect Robert Swartburg in 1947. Located within the Ocean Drive/Collins Historic District, the building holds deep cultural significance. Named in honor of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt—whose family often visited—the hotel symbolized the optimism and patriotism of the era. Our firm is currently leading the coordination of a comprehensive renovation of the 169-guestroom, 138,000-square-foot property, including the main building and its iconic exterior poolside gazebos. The new design replaces the interior by Philippe Starck, which received widespread national attention in 1995. The project is being developed in collaboration with interior designer Studio Shamshiri and landscape designer Raymond Jungles, merging historic preservation with a fresh, contemporary vision for this storied destination.
