Studio Mc+G collaborated on this project with French designer Rudy Ricciotti and Interior Designer Gulla Jonsdottir. The Hyatt Thompson Symphony Hotel in Miami beach is located in the highly visible intersection of 17th street and Washington Avenue, across the New World Symphony, The Fillmore theater and the Temple Emanu-El.
The 80 feet high, 8-story hotel has a gross total of 157,000 SF. Its 150 guestrooms are configured to form the perimeter around an interior courtyard. The development, to be opened in October 2023, includes a rooftop pool deck and restaurant, ground level retail spaces and a 122-space mechanical garage. The structure is clad with ultra-high performance concrete panels and the curves of the guestroom balconies recall the ocean waves and the energy of Miami Beach.
